All of our dogs and cats are looking for a permanent home where they can give and get the love and care they deserve. Our furry and fuzzy residents are spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated, and on heartworm, flea, and tick preventive medications.
We also have other options for people who are interested in adopting, but are unsure or cannot wholly commit to a pet as of yet:
“Hogar con Huella” Foster Program
By joining our foster program, you will have the opportunity to care for some of our dogs and / or cats while they are ready for adoption, or while recovering/rehabilitating from a health condition. Temporary homes are the bridge between rescue work and adoption. When you are part of this program, SASFAPR will cover the animal’s veterinary care, provide food, toys, enclosures, and everything necessary for the welfare of the pet in your care.
Foster to Adoption
If you would like to adopt one of our dogs or cats, but want to know if they will fit well in your family dynamics or get along with your pets, you can be a foster home for two weeks so you may decide what’s best for you. While serving as a foster home, SASFAPR will cover the animal’s veterinary care, provide food, toys, enclosures, and everything necessary for the welfare of the pet in your care.
Sponsor
Let’s say you fall in love with one of our residents, but can’t adopt or foster just yet. Please consider being a Pet Sponsor! Also known as Remote Adoption, you may help cover the animal’s veterinary and food expenses by making a fixed donation each month.
If you want to adopt or sponsor one of our residents, send an email to info@sasfapr.org. One of our team members will contact you and guide you through the adoption process, as well as schedule an appointment to visit our facilities in Cabo Rojo. That way, you may meet our friendly and adorable cats and dogs.
