Volunteer

Volunteers are key players who make SASFA’s daily operations possible. Not only do they help us with clean up of housing and recreation areas, they also help us with socialization and recreation, which are super important activities for our 150 plus residents. Volunteers help us give our cats and dogs the love and care they sorely need!

Here are some of the tasks that volunteers perform:

· Cleaning: The housing and recreation areas of the animals are cleaned every day. This is one of the most important tasks carried out in the Sanctuary and is what guarantees the health and well-being of our dogs and cats and the people who visit us.

· Baths: Dogs get baths on certain days of the week.

· Socialization: Our residents sometimes need some help to get themselves ready to go to a home. Such simple acts as brushing them, walking or playing with them are an essential part of the socialization process that makes them fit to integrate into a family.

Volunteering requirements:

· Be 12 years of age or older.
· Sign and hand in volunteer waiver.
· Comply with the dress code: long pants that completely cover the legs and are not thin leggings or have gaps, as well as closed shoes and sleeved shirts (no sleeveles or strappy shirts allowed).
· Send an email to voluntarios.sasfapr@gmail.com to schedule your volunteering commitment.

Other ways you can volunteer with SASFA:

· Education: Join our team of educators to offer talks on responsible pet guardianship, adoption, and Act No. 154 of 2008 (Law for the Welfare and Protection of Animals), among other topics.
· Activities: You can represent us in activities all over the island, such as events to collect donations or animal welfare activities to guide our work.
· Others: If you have a skill set that you believe can help the Santuario (design, art, music, photography, etc.), do not hesitate to contact us!

If you wish to work with us as a volunteer, or if you have any questions, send a message to voluntarios.sasfapr@gmail.com to get the volunteering process started and schedule your visit.
